JUST IN! Akwa Ibom State Police Arrests About 121 Violators Over Compulsory Use Of Facemasks

Just of recent times, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command said made a shocking revelation that it has arrested about one hundred and twenty-one persons who reportedly failed to wear face-masks in public places in the State.

This information was made known via the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Frederick Nnudam in a statement on Friday and revealed that the suspects would be arraigned in special courts established in the three senatorial districts of the State so as to serve as a warning to others.

He, further, encouraged the citizens to always wear face-masks in public places as police would not relent in arresting violators.

“the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the State, in line with the provisions of the Quarantine and Restriction of Movement (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2020, has arrested one hundred and twenty-one (121) violators.
“The arrested offenders would be arraigned in the special courts established in the three Senatorial Districts to serve as a deterrent to others.
“Consequently, the Police Command enjoins the good people of the State to always use facemasks in public places as the Command will continue to arrest and prosecute violators.”
