Nations League: Why We lost 1-0 to Hungary – England Coach, Gareth Southgate

England manager, Gareth Southgate, has suggested that his team lost 1-0 against Hungary in Saturday’s UEFA Nations League tie due to heat.

Southgate watched as Hungary defeated England at Puskás Aréna Park on Saturday evening.

A second-half penalty from Dominik Szoboskzlai gave Hungary the victory over the Three Lions.

Speaking after the game, Southgate was quoted by UEFA’s official website as saying: “The heat was a factor. That took a lot out of the players.

“I don’t want to be too harsh on them. These are games we need to learn from.”

England’s next UEFA Nations League fixture is against Germany on Tuesday.
