EPL: He’ll Cause Unrest – McCoist Warns Man United Over Ronaldo

Rangers legend, Ally McCoist, has said that Manchester United cannot afford to change their strategy in order to accommodate a player like Cristiano Ronaldo who is nearing the end of his career.

The 37-year-old had indicated his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer but as it stands, no club has made any significant progress in the pursuit of the forward.

United boss, Erik ten Hag handed him his first appearance of pre-season as he played 45 minutes of the friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

And with the football icon still said to be looking for a move, McCoist has told the Red Devils to let him move on.

He told talkSPORT: “It’s a difficult scenario,” he told talkSPORT, adding that there’s no point forcing a player to stay when they actually want to leave.

He said that the club and their manager should have allowed the Portugal captain to go as soon as he said that he wanted to leave.

“The future of Manchester United is not Cristiano Ronaldo. I don’t believe for a minute that it is,” he added.
